I received a phone message a little over a week ago inquiring about a listing I’ve got on the market in Rochester. As usual I returned the call as soon as I could and found it to be a very pleasant young lady looking for her first home. I answered her questions and set up the appointment to meet at my office and then to go see the property. We met this last week and after a very successful office meeting we went out and viewed my listing along with several other properties that fit the criteria she had given me.
That evening I found myself thinking of the questions the inquisitive first time home-buyer had asked. Yes, they were the very questions I had asked my agent the first time I had purchased a home a few years before becoming a Realtor myself! I then started to reflect on the many wonderful experiences I’ve had with first time home-buyers over my 8+ years as a Realtor and I couldn’t help but smile.
A word of advice to any first time homebuyer: There is no such thing as a bad question when it comes to purchasing your first home, or any home thereafter for that matter. The only bad question is a question unasked!
With interest rates and home prices as low as they are and tax incentives as they are, it’s a great time to be a first time home-buyer!
